Another busy academic year has ended and much has been accomplished. Thank you to the many teachers who gave their time to help CITE. Whether you attended the AGM, the Social, the conference in April, or encouraged your students to submit something for the InCITE Writing Competition, we appreciate your support.
The summer break is here! Before you leave, please remember to mark your calendar for the next conference: Making Media Matter, hosted by Royal St. George's College on Saturday, April 16, 2016. We thought it would be helpful for planning purposes to view the 2016 InCITE writing prompt. Here it is - enjoy! Click here for the rest of the newsletter. You should be kicking yourself if you missed the CITE Social. With free beer, wine, food AND the chance to mingle with Jospeh Boyden, a better night could not have been planned. More on that in a minute. Special thanks to Appleby College for "securing" Joseph, to St. Clement's School for hosting the event, and to UCC for catering and making sure everyone's glass was filled.
Please remember to introduce the InCITE writing prompt to your students as the deadline is Monday, February 23, 2015. The CITE Executive
Though it was alarming to see Starbucks and Indigo swathed in red a mere day after Hallowe'en, the change of holiday season reminded me how quickly the year passes; it is not too soon to plan next term, and I encourage you to save time to introduce the InCITE writing prompt. Students will never forget the first time they had their writing published.
Also, thank you to everyone who attended the CITE AGM at Upper Canada College on October 30. Please note that we are looking for CITE conference workshop presenters and still have a few CITE Executive positions available. Finally, don't miss the CITE Social in February. The CITE Executive Read the full CITE newsletter here. Check out the range of events hosted by the Brockton Writers Series. One of our CIS authors, Patricia Westerhof, will be reading here in September, 2013.
